Alterations in myocardial mitochondrial function and metabolism have been implicated in the pathophysiology of heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). The impact of mechanical dyssynchrony and its alleviation through cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) on myocardial mitochondrial function and metabolism remain poorly understood.
