Short-term effect of non-surgical periodontal treatment on local and systemic cytokine levels: Role of hyperglycemia.

CONCLUSIONS: Periodontal treatment reduced local inflammatory markers, specifically IL-1B and IFN-γ, irrespective of the diabetes status.
