In Regard to Razavian et al
We congratulate Razavian et al on their thorough and informative 40-year systematic review of radiation-induced pelvic insufficiency fractures (PIF) after irradiation for gynecologic malignancies.1 The authors estimate that after pelvic radiation therapy, the crude incidence of PIF is a noteworthy 9.4% and the 5-year actuari al incidence is 15.3%. Their analysis quantitatively consolidates the data with appropriate statistical models to account for inherent limitations of a meta-analysis.
