Discrete subaortic stenosis characterization with ECG-gated cardiac CT: A case series

A 44 year-old female with a known history of discrete subaortic stenosis (DSAS) presented for routine surveillance transthoracic echocardiography (TTE). She denied symptoms. TTE demonstrated severe DSAS, with peak and mean gradients of 93 and 46 mm Hg, respectively. Also present were mild aortic regurgitation (AR) and mild left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH). She was referred for clinical evaluation. Her physical exam demonstrated a harsh 3/6 mid-systolic murmur radiating to the carotid arteries.
