Letter to the editor regarding, “Preemptive analgesia with a single low dose of intrathecal morphine in multilevel posterior lumbar interbody fusion surgery: a double-blind, randomized, controlled trial,” by Wang et al

In this study, the authors suggest that the use of intrathecal morphine (ITM) for analgesia in advance c an notably improve early postoperative pain control and reduce the consumption of postoperative patient-controlled intravenous analgesia without increasing side effects.
