4.4 a randomized controlled trial of a developmental reciprocity treatment program in young children with autism spectrum disorder

Developmental approaches have been used in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) treatment for decades, and empirical support is growing. These procedures focus on child-led interactions and embedding teaching within affectively rich social interactions. As the ASD field increasingly incorporates these techniques into behavioral early-intervention programming, there remains a need for controlled trials to objectively evaluate the efficacy of these popular and promising treatment procedures.
