Self-care in Iranian patients with diabetes: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Diabetes is one of the most common chronic metabolic disorders in the world and has been observed in nine percent of the world ’s population. In 2011, there were 366 million patients with diabetes in the world and this number will reach 552 million people by 2030 [1]. With a high prevalence in Iran, it is estimated that more than 4.6 million people will be diagnosed with diabetes by 2030 in this country [2]. Diabetes is a ssociated with various complications caused by damage to body organs such as renal failure, vision impairments, cardiovascular disease, diabetic foot ulcer, and mortality [3,4].
