Intraoperative hyperglycemia in patients with an elevated preoperative C-reactive protein level may increase the risk of acute kidney injury after cardiac surgery

ConclusionsIntraoperative hyperglycemia in patients with an elevated preoperative CRP level was significantly related to an increased risk of AKI after cardiac surgery. Individualized perioperative glycemic control may therefore be necessary in these patients.
