Glycosylated Hemoglobin A1c Predicts Intracerebral Hemorrhage with Acute Ischemic Stroke Post-Mechanical Thrombectomy

Given its efficacy and safety, mechanical thrombectomy (MT) is the standard treatment for patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) caused by large vessel occlusions (LVO) of the anterior circulation 1 –5. Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), especially post-MT symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage (sICH), is a complication associated with early neurologic deterioration and high mortality 6. This issue has partly limited MT implementation.
