Alex's Lemonade Stand tops $100M fund-raising mark

The Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation has surpassed the $100 million fundraising mark. The Wynnewood, Pa., nonprofit organization grew out of a front yard lemonade stand started by cancer patient Alexandra "Alex" Scott, who lost her battle with cancer in 2004 at 8 years old. Alex had neuroblastoma, a type of childhood cancer. She was born in Connecticut, but moved to Wynnewood to be closer to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where she was being treated.
