Transarterial Chemoembolization of Drug-Eluting Embolic Microspheres for Giant Tonsillar Carcinoma: A Case Report

This is a case of giant tonsillar carcinoma that was treated with drug-eluting embolic (DEE) transarterial chemoembolization. A 41-year-old man presented to the hospital with a large mass in the right side of the neck (Fig 1). He was experiencing pain, dysmasesis, and dysphagia. Computed tomography (CT) showed a 12 cm  × 10 cm enhancing lesion in the right side of the neck and bilateral submandibular lymph node metastasis (Fig 2). A squamous cell carcinoma of the tonsil was diagnosed based on histopathologic examination.
