A case of pregnancy and lactation-associated osteoporosis and a review of the literature

ConclusionPLO is a very rare type of osteoporosis associated with severe chronic back pain. Increased bone resorption significantly increases the risk of bone fractures in women with PLO. Early diagnosis, stopping breastfeeding, treatment of calcium and vitamin D, bisphosphonates, or other antiosteoporosis medicine and regular follow-ups of these cases are particularly important in the prevention of fractures and to increase the quality of life of patients.
