Response Regarding: Is Prophylactic Total Gastrectomy Always Indicated in CDH1 Germline Mutant Carriers?

We very much appreciate Dr Corso's response to our article and the opportunity to agree with his perspective.1 He correctly points out that with increased genetic testing, we are finding subsets of individuals who harbor a CDH1 mutation but do not otherwise fulfill the International Gastric Cancer Linkage Consortium (IGCLC) guidelines. In other words, there are CDH1 individuals with no family history of diffuse gastric cancer or lobular breast cancer (IGCLC negative), or those with limited history, perhaps a single family member with lobular breast cancer (LBC) (IGCLC partial phenotype).
