“If It's the Time, It's the Time”: Existential Communication in Naturally Occurring Palliative Care Conversations with Individuals with Advanced Cancer, Their Families, and Clinicians (RP307)

Being diagnosed with a serious illness can heighten awareness of the fragility of life, with potential to trigger existential concerns. Despite the inevitability of existential experience for individuals facing life-limiting illnesses, existential experience remains a neglected area in palliative care research. In particular, little is known regarding how existential experience is discussed among individuals with advanced cancer, their families, and clinicians in everyday palliative care conversations.
