I routinely buy used Dell server workstations for a couple hundred dollars, add a $400 video card and use a $400 4K high resolution monitor for xray and CT/MR etc.  We need to really examine the current tech and ask why we need radiology specific monitors, when monitor tech for the public has gotten so inexpensive and high quality.  I did buy a used 10MP mammo monitor several years ago and have been reading mammo remotely for some time.  State laws require a yearly physicist visit and blessing, and on the last one, I asked him to look at my $500 4K 48 inch TV running off my same workstation and explain to me why it is not legal to use. Because the standards are older than the tech. No radiologist with their naked eye could tell the difference. The physicist couldn't either. I prefer the 4K TV. 8K is coming soon.  5/22/2020 11:20:56 AMsandeep panga Yeah, monitor prices are crazy. I think the Barco we use is around $13k.
