Changes in specific esophageal neuro-mechanical wall states are associated with conscious awareness of a solid swallowed bolus in healthy subjects.

CONCLUSION: In healthy volunteers perceived swallows relate to changes in esophageal neuro-mechanical wall states in the proximal esophagus.
