Management of a patient with shapiro syndrome variant during pregnancy
A 29-year-old primigravida woman (weight 57 kg, height 160 cm) was admitted to our maternity unit with preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) at 33 weeks ’ gestation. Her medical, surgical, and family histories were unremarkable. She had good general health status and normal vital signs (temperature 35.8°C) at admission. The cardiotocograph showed good fetal heart reactivity and no uterine contractions.Laboratory tests were normal (hemoglobin 13 g /dl, white blood cell count 12x103/mm3, C-reactive protein negative).
