Author's reply to Letter to the Editor- Determinants of Bipolar Amplitude.

We thank Dr. Nayyar and colleagues for their interest in our work and for raising important comments. As addressed in our manuscript, our computational and clinical models were indeed simplified systems compared to the complexity found in clinical conditions such as scar border zone. Our aim was not to characterize the morphology of complex, fractionated electrograms (EGMs) but rather to identify and validate the physical mechanism of directional sensitivity. Care should indeed be taken when extrapolating these results to more complex conditions, but we expect the identified general principles of directional sensitivity will have relevance in any clinically recorded bipolar EGM.
