Intermediate hyperglycaemia, insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome among obese Arab children (12 –17 years old) in Kuwait
In Kuwait, about 50% of schoolchildren are obese or overweight based on the World Health Organization (WHO) criteria, with higher prevalence of obesity in boys [1]. Thus, a large proportion of children can be considered at risk of developing non-communicable diseases later in life.
