DuoStim: a new strategy proposed for women with poor ovarian response

Poor ovarian response (POR) to stimulation is one of the most difficult conditions in in  vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles, as it is well established that the cumulative live birth rate is positively associated with the number of oocytes obtained. Although many strategies have been proposed to treat this population with a poor prognosis, there is no clear superiority of one treatment v ersus another to obtain more oocytes or, even more important, to obtain a higher live birth rate (LBR). Thanks to experience in the stimulation of patients for urgent fertility preservation (e.g., due to the diagnosis of cancer), luteal phase stimulation has been shown to be feasible for obtaining m ature oocytes and embryos for cryopreservation.
