Prognostic Influence of Feature Tracking Multidetector Row Computed Tomography-Derived Left Ventricular Global Longitudinal Strain in Patients with Aortic Stenosis Treated with Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation

Computed tomography plays a central role in the evaluation of patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS) undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). Advances in left ventricular (LV) analysis with dynamic multidetector row computed tomography (MDCT) permit measurement of LV global longitudinal strain (GLS). The present study aimed at evaluating the association between feature tracking (FT) MDCT derived LV GLS and all-cause mortality in patients treated with TAVI. A total of 214 patients with severe AS (51% male, 80 ±7 years) undergoing TAVI and with dynamic MDCT data allowing LV GLS measurement with novel FT algorithm were included.
