Control of the 2018 –2019 dengue fever outbreak in Oman: A country previously without local transmission
Dengue virus (DENV) infection is widespread in the tropics and subtropics, and the main vector of transmission is the Aedes aegypti mosquito, although Aedes albopictus may also be a vector. In countries where A. aegypti and/or A. albopictus are present, DENV will either be circulating or can be introduced by viremic travellers from endemic areas.
