Reduced multidrug resistance-associated protein 2 in ticlopidine-induced cholestatic liver injury

Drug-Induced Liver Injury (DILI) is a challenging clinical problem for which currently, there are no specific diagnostic markers, except for few exceptions [1,2]. Here we report a case of ticlopidine-induced cholestatic hepatitis, for which histologic immunoreactivity to the Multidrug Resistance-associated Protein 2 (MRP2), assisted in the diagnosis of DILI, thus providing new insight into both the pathogenic mechanisms and the diagnostic process of DILI.
