Distribution of intramuscular giant lipomas in the functional compartments of the forearm: a report of 12 cases.

CONCLUSIONS:  Intramuscular lipoma is a relatively uncommon tumour, especially in the forearm. Because of the proximity to the neurovascular structures in the forearm, excision of lipomas should be performed with care and include wide incisions. Additionally, knowing the anatomical features of the compartment where the lipoma is localised in the forearm is important in planning surgery to enable easier dissection of the lipoma and lessen the risk of damage to adjacent neurovascular structures. Conclusions: There was no correlation between the degree of degeneration and clinical symptoms. Pain was the most common clinical symptom, but it was rarely accompanied by functional limitation. However, it is important to distinguish it from other pain-inducing disorders. The incidence of intraosseous lipomas is low, and detection based on various imaging findings can be difficult. Conclusions The diagnostic yield of magnetic resonance imaging requested for children with urinary dysfunctions without skin stigma or neuro-orthopedic abnormalities is low, although nonnegligible. In this group, the patients with a history of acute urine retention and muscle pain (pain, “cramps”) can experience a greater diagnostic yield or positive predictive value.

We describe an unusual case of a chondrolipoma occurring in the right ankle of a 9-year-old female. Physical examination showed a 3.5-cm, elastic-hard, poorly mobile, nontender mass adherent to the Achilles tendon. Plain radiographs revealed a faintly calcified soft tissue mass without bone involvement. CONCLUSION: In this study, we found a stronger association of corpus callosum hypoplasia with posteriorly situated curvilinear lipomas. Our results are in disagreement with previous studies, which suggested corpus callosum anomalies were more often associated with anteriorly situated tubulonodular lipomas. Pericallosal lipomas are benign, self-limiting or slow-growing lesions that generally remain asymptomatic. These lesions occur in the midline and surround critical neurovascular structures.
