Novel index of body fluid-rna integrity based on small rna electropherogram

Ensuring RNA integrity is important in RNA experiments because RNA molecules are highly labile. We previously reported that RNA integrity number (RIN) was not accurate for examining RNA integrity in body fluid. In the present study, we developed a new index for body fluid-RNA integrity using the small RNA electropherogram. We first compared the small RNA electropherogram with the total RNA electropherogram in venous blood RNA. Then, to develop the RNA integrity index, we analyzed the small RNA electropherogram by partial least squares regression.
