Reply to the letter: “Acute encephalopathy with brain swelling”

We would like to thank Priyanka Madaan and Lokesh Saini for contributing their opinions about our article. After a recent nationwide survey in Japan, we know that acute encephalopathy can be classified into two major categories. One is based on the pathogen of the preceding infection and the other is based on clinical, laboratory, imaging, and pathological findings of encephalopathy [1,2].
