Paxil and Birth Defects
The US Food and Drug Administration today released an alert regarding use of the SSRI antidepressant Paxil (generic Paroxetine) by pregnant women. Two studies indicate that there is a substantially greater risk of birth defects when Paxil is used during the first three months of pregnancy.
