We read with attention the Letter to the Editor published by Raffaele Gaeta and Valentina Giuffra accepted for publication in the September 2019 issue of Journal of Infection.1 We were very surprised that the authors stated: “The picture described by the doctors is a typical case of disseminated cystic echinococcosis, a parasitic disease caused by tapeworms Echinococcus multilocularis”.
