Intralesional 5-fluorouracil for the treatment of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma: A retrospective analysis
Background: Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) is usually treated by surgical excision. Emerging nonsurgical options include injection with chemotherapeutic agents, such as intralesional 5-FU (IL5FU). Utilization of IL5FU has been published in case reports and reviews, yet has not been included in treatment guidelines due to limited study of its use.
