Definitions, adjudication, and reporting of pulmonary embolism-related death in clinical studies: a systematic review.

CONCLUSIONS: Only half of the included studies reported definitions for PE-related death, which were very heterogeneous. Case-fatality rate of VTE events varied widely across studies.
