Association of Clinical Factors with the Costs of Kidney Transplantation in the Current Era.

CONCLUSIONS After the first posttransplant year the costs of a kidney transplant patient for the health care system are <1/3 of the costs seen during dialysis treatment. Delayed graft function and previous sensitization were associated with increased costs post-transplantation.
