Request for Proposals: National Marfan Foundation Early Investigator Grant Program The National Marfan Foundation (NMF) is pleased to announce its newest grant program for the early investigator.  Applications are new being accepted for two-year grants in basic or clinical research on Marfan syndrome and related disorders.  A total of three two-year grants for $37,500 per year for a total of $75,000 per grant will be awarded.  The NMF's grant program is designed to provide financial support for early investigators studying any or all disciplines involved in this area.  The principal investigator must hold an MD, DO, PhD, ScD, DDS, DVM or equivalent degree.  The investigator must have proven ability to pursue independent research as evidenced by original research publications in peer-reviewed journals.  Applicants must be within seven years from their first faculty position and have never received an NIH R-01 grant award.  Appointments associated with clinical house staff/fellowship training positions will be excluded from the seven-year faculty limit.  Award winners cannot hold concurrent NIH K award.  Work can be performed in the U.S. or internationally.  Grant awards are based on proposal evaluation by the NMF Scientific Advisory Board with the approval of the NMF Board of Directors.  Applications must be submitted via the NMF website.
