This study hypothesized that PCS with propofol during FB would facilitate early recovery, with similar bronchoscopist and patient satisfaction compared with nurse-controlled sedation (NCS) with midazolam. A total of 150 patients were randomized 1:1:1 into a control group (premedication with morphine-scopolamine and NCS with midazolam), PCS-MS group (premedication with morphine-scopolamine and PCS with propofol), and PCS-G group (premedication with glycopyrronium and PCS with propofol). Results: The procedures included transbronchial biopsy, transbronchial needle aspiration, cryotherapy/biopsy, and/or multistation endobr...

Abstract Local anesthetics are essential medications for the conduction of dermatological procedures. They stop the depolarization of nerve fibers and are divided into two main categories, the amide and ester types. Systemic toxicity with reflex on the central nervous and cardiovascular systems is their most feared adverse reactions, and the anaphylactic reaction is the most concerning one. Although potentially fatal, these events are extremely rare, so local anesthetics are considered safe for use in in-office procedures.

Hello! I am having trouble deciding which school to attend this fall. I feel very fortunate to even have options to choose from but I do not want to make the wrong decision. With both schools, I'd be able to match to a residency in NY and if I try hard enough, maybe Florida. Right now, I am also interested in general surgery, urology, ortho, anesthesiology, EM - so pretty much open to a lot. Please help :/ I really don't want to be unhappy for 4 years. An engineer friend gave me a 3m half respirator with new p100 filters, recommending i use it instead of an n95.. For protection against airborne aerosolization, this feels to be superior. Not comparing with a papr. Should I use this instead of an n95 for situations that I don't use a papr? ( 3M™ Half Facepiece Reusable Respirator 6100/07024(AAD) -... N95 vs P100
