Scientists say procedure showed improvements but larger clinical experiment needed to confirm benefitsPatients with severeobsessive-compulsivedisorder have shown remarkable improvements after undergoing an experimental procedure in which electrodes are placed inside the brain.The first UK trial of deep brain stimulation for OCD involved six people who were extremely severely affected by the condition. The patients each had four electrodes surgically inserted through the skull into the brain.
