Jim Cox —The Passing of an Era
The Red Journal was created more than 4 decades ago to capture and disseminate the science of the new specialty of radiation oncology. Since its birth, the journal has had only 3 editors in chief, their lengthy tenures testifying to their devout belief in the power of a good scientific journal to steward the advancement of a specialty. Editorship is, by its nature, an unselfish labor —selecting, improving, and promoting others' work because you deeply believe that the circulation of new findings, or new perspectives, will improve medicine as a whole.
