Single port laparoscopy (SPL): Retrospective study evaluating postoperative pain in comparison with conventional laparoscopy

Introduction: Laparoscopy was introduced in the 1970s as an alternative to laparotomy, to achieve less invasive surgeries, with reduced operative time and improved postoperative convalescence. A new concept was born to make a single trans-umbilical incision through which several instruments would pass.
