Nightmare Severity Is Inversely Related to Frontal Brain Activity During Waking State Picture Viewing

Conclusions:Results point to a possible overlap in brain mechanisms involved in nightmare dysphoria (during sleep) and distress (during wakefulness) among individuals who frequently recall nightmares.
