Burn injury and multiple sclerosis: A retrospective case-control study

In 2016, 486,000 burn injuries occurred in the United States [1]. Over time, advances in fluid resuscitation, nutrition management, pulmonary care, wound care and infection control have led to improved survival outcomes for patients with burn injuries [2,3]. Despite these advances in critical care, the consequences of and subsequent management for burn injuries in patients with MS continues to be under investigated and poorly understood.
