Aged Neutrophils in Sickle Cell Disease Impede Ischemic Repair

CONCLUSIONS: Although SS and MerKO mice demonstrated elevated numbers of aged neutrophils, our data suggest that oxidant stress causes aged CXCR4HiCD62Llo neutrophils in SS to impede vascular repair after ischemia.
