To the Editor: We would like to thank the authors for their comments on our work and for raising general points regarding statistics and machine learning that are important for public discussion (1). It was partly with the intention of generating these types of discussions that we wrote our paper, “Salvage HDR Brachytherapy: Multiple Hypothesis Testing Versus Machine Learning Analysis (2).” As such, we would like to thank the editor for giving us the opportunity to reply. We believe that our revised article, with the comments and our response, offers a better picture of the applications o f machine learning to medicine in general and radiation oncology in particular.
