24.2 Randomized Controlled Trial of a Serious Gaming Intervention for Children on the Autism Spectrum: Effects on Emotion Regulation and Social Skills

Few online approaches to social-emotional skills training for children with ASD have been systematically evaluated. This presentation describes the findings from an RCT of an online parent-coaching intervention that used a computer game to improve the social-emotional skills of children with high-functioning ASD. An overview of the intervention will be presented, including a practical demonstration of the Secret Agent Society (SAS) computer game.
