3.3 Hormone Management of Transgender Youth and Adolescents

Pioneering work from the Netherlands over the last 30 years has informed current models of medical care for gender-nonconforming/transgender youth, as summarized in the most recent editions of the Endocrine Society ’s Clinical Practice Guidelines and the World Professional Association of Transgender Health’s Standards of Care. The principal objectives will be to understand the use of pubertal blockers and gender-affirming sex hormones in youth with gender incongruence.
