[Effectiveness and tolerability of electroconvulsive therapy : Influence of clinical response from the patient's point of view].

CONCLUSION: Against the background of persisting criticism regarding the evaluation of ECT, the viewpoint of the patients affected provides a relevant expansion for an appropriate judgement of this therapeutic process. The results indicate a good benefit-risk ratio of ECT from the patients' perspective.
