ConclusionComplete resection of liver metastases is considered the major condition for a potential survival outcome in these patients. Management of these patients should include a multidisciplinary team with consideration of each individual specificities. Prospective randomized trials are needed to elucidate the optimal treatment strategy.

ConclusionWe conclude that diaphragm interventions are an essential part of CRS. They are associated with increased perioperative morbidity. This morbidity is not attributable to whether the patient underwent diaphragm stripping or resection. However in mesothelioma and LAMNs, requiring diaphragm resection is likely to be an indicator for tumor aggression.

Publication date: September 2019Source: Biomedicine &Pharmacotherapy, Volume 117Author(s): Xuan-mei Huang, Zhi-jie Yang, Qing Xie, Zi-kang Zhang, Hua Zhang, Jun-ying MaAbstractColorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common types of cancers in humans and is closely linked to the global cancer-related mortalities worldwide. Molecular pathological epidemiology studies can reveal the risk factors of CRC and contribute to biomarker research and precision medicine. The current clinical treatment for CRC mainly involves surgery and chemotherapy. However, because of the occurrence of side effects and the emergence of drug r...

Background: Randomized control trials and population-based studies do not demonstrate a definitive benefit for adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT) in stage II colon cancer (CC). Tumor sidedness and microsatellite instability (MSI) status may predict response to ACT, but previous studies have limited microsatellite data. We assessed the efficacy of ACT and possible interaction with MSI status and tumor sidedness in patients with resected stage II CC diagnosed between 2010 and 2013 using the National Cancer Database. Materials and Methods: Overall survival was evaluated with the Kaplan-Meier method and multivariate and propensi...

ConclusionIFN-I induces STAT3 activation to activateGzmb expression to enhance CTL effector function to suppress tumor development. Human colorectal carcinoma may use down-regulation of IFNAR1 on CTLs to suppress CTL effector function to evade host cancer immunosurveillance.

Conclusions The major outcome of this review is that AC showed essentially no effect in human studies, whereas AC-enriched diets proved to be effective in experimental murine models of CRC. In cell culture tests, AC showed to interfere with cell signaling pathways related to cell growth and differentiation, apoptosis, oxygen stress and inflammation response. Further molecular characterisations are required to include AC is the panel of disease-modifying agents.
