Should adenotonsillectomy be routinely offered in children undergoing adenoidectomy?

Aim: Adenotonsillar surgery is a common paediatric ENT procedure with clear guidelines. Many children undergoing tonsillectomy will have had an adenoidectomy and therefore will be subjected to two general anaesthetics. We aim to identify how many children undergo adenoidectomy and have a tonsillectomy at a later date and to investigate whether we should offer concurrent tonsillectomy in adenoidectomy patients.
