Jul 16, Alexander Luria: Today in the History of Psychology (16th July 1902)

Alexander Romanovich Luria was born. A founding figure within the field of cultural-historical psychology, Luria is also renowned for his pioneering work within neuropsychology, in particular his systematic research into the functional organization of memory and speech within the brain. Among Luria's most influential published works were 'Higher Cortical Functions in Man' (1962), 'The Man with a Shattered World: The History of a Brain Wound' (1972) and 'The Working Brain' (1973).
