Heart failure specialist nurse “need of time” for developing countries: An old concept but a newer initiative—A review article

The concept of heart failure nurse specialist is a decade old in developed countries but in developing nations the need of same can be felt by health care professionals when dealing with the burden of the disease alone. The heart failure nurse specialized clinics has almost every time demonstrated the valuable results in terms of event free survival, reduction in hospitalizations, improved quality of life, enhanced self care behaviour, and improved medicinal compliance. The present review article (studies taken in between 1999 to 2016 around the globe) emphasizes on the need of heart failure nurse specialist and a team approach to deal with the individualistic care needs of heart failure patient.
