Contribution of routine cardiac biological markers to the etiological workup of ischemic stroke
Optimization of the detection of atrial fibrillation following stroke is mandatory. Unfortunately, access to long-term cardiac monitoring is limited in many centers. The aim of this study was to assess the potential usefulness of three routine biological markers, troponin, D-dimers and BNP, measured in acute stroke phase in the selection of patients at risk of cardio-embolic stroke.
Conclusions: The rivaroxaban users had a 3-day shorter LOS-OAC after IPTW-adjustment. Using rivaroxaban was associated with a 4 to 5 days shorter LOS-OAC than using warfarin in patients with mild or moderate stroke, though treatment selection did not have a large impact in patients with severe stroke. ConclusionsThis study revealed a low known AF rate, low OACs use rate and low rate of meeting the guideline-based criteria for OACs in AIS patients with AF in the northwest region of China. These findings indicated the importance of AF as a public health problem in China.
