Public Health Crisis Communication and a Spotlight on the Utah Department of Health ' s Tribal Model

National Indian Health Board. 01/09/2018 Using Zika as an example, this webinar, in two videos, describes how Zika virus funding allowed the Utah Department of Health to increase mosquito trapping, mosquito identification, and disease surveillance, and opened new opportunities for communication and collaboration between local and Tribal mosquito abatements. Speakers share examples of Tribal-specific communication materials created through the formal consultation and conferment process, and describe the health department ' s partnership with the Utah Indian Health Advisory Board (UIHAB) as a critical step in the formal process.
