Thunderstorm asthma in Melbourne, Australia: Single centre patient outcomes and clinical review
Conclusion: Most patients responded to acute treatment but a minority were critically unwell. Allergic rhinitis was almost universal and most patients were vulnerable to airborne allergen. Prior to the thunderstorm, asthma had been considerably under-diagnosed and under-treated. Systematic preventive measures are needed to reduce future risk.
